The only thing required for contributing content to the Archives Portal Europe is to be able to produce finding aids in EAD/XML format. Since the Archives Portal Europe's tools take care of converting valid EAD/XML finding aids to the common apeEAD format, any EAD/XML format will do, as long as it is valid according to EAD2002 (for more information on EAD see: http://loc.gov/ead/). EAD/XML finding aids can be created via exports out of archival database management systems. Here we will provide a list of the archival management systems whose standard EAD/XML finding aids exports can be ingested and processed in the Archives Portal Europe without any problem.
